What is epoxy grouting?
Most tiled areas in Melbourne still use cement grout. It’s cheap and easy to apply, but it isn’t waterproof. Which raises the question: why seal a wet area with a material that absorbs water and wears away?

Epoxy grout is different. It’s a two-part resin that bonds tightly to your tiles, creating a hard, seamless, fully waterproof seal. It doesn’t crack, absorb moisture, or break down over time like cement grout.
Epoxy is more difficult to work with and requires greater skill, but when applied properly, it stays watertight for decades.

Why epoxy grout is better than cement grout:
-
Stain resistant – doesn’t absorb spills, oils, or grime like cement grout
-
Waterproof – no porosity, so mould and mildew struggle to grow
-
Stronger & more durable – won’t crack, crumble, or erode over time
-
Colour stays true – no fading or patchiness as it ages
-
Low maintenance – no sealing required, easy to clean
-
Chemical resistant – great for kitchens, laundries, and commercial spaces
-
Hygienic – ideal for wet areas because bacteria can’t soak in

SILICONE REPLACEMENT
Silicone sealant (sometimes just called "caulk") is the flexible, waterproof material used around the edges of your shower—like where the tub meets the tile or in corners. It keeps water from seeping into the gaps and causing mold, mildew, or damage behind the walls. Over time, this sealant can wear out, become discolored, crack, or grow mold. When that happens, it’s time to remove the old silicone, clean it all out properly and apply a fresh new sealing.

This isn’t just about looks. Proper sealing prevents water from sneaking into hidden areas, which can cause mold inside your walls and lead to expensive repairs.
